Welcome

Here I can share my curiosity. Mostly through my photography which is my mediative space and gives me pause to be present in the world.

Wander around and see what you find.

This is a place for my tangents… the photography, illustration, and writing which I do for fun aside from my careers as an architect, researcher, and teacher.

A bit of this and a bit of that, by Andre LH Baros

Oh hi!

Growing up in a family of photographers, pictures have always been our language of sharing, remembering, and connecting. Both my parents took great pictures but my father in particular loved to get out, see things, and share those experiences. When he passed, I picked up where he left off and use my journey through photography to stay connected to him and those I love.

I have aphantasia, which means that I do not see pictures in my head. Because of this, sketching, drawing, and in particular photography are how I remember the world. I draw to think, I take pictures to remember. For years, I’ve only shared my work privately with family and friends but the group I call friends has grown too big for that. This site is a place to share my wandering view of the world.

For those curious, I shoot with a Canon EOS R. It replaced my last camera, the 5D which I got from my father. I used that camera until it literally wore out and broke in my hands after years of carrying it everywhere. My main lens these days is a Canon RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM because it suits the way I see the world; Noticing the details. I also shoot with a variety of other lenses, many of which were my fathers… favoring the 85mm prime he gave me for portrait and headshot work.
