Cold grey
It was only 9 degrees out, but I really needed a walk… with my camera. I headed to one of my favorite spots for seeing coyote’s and view of the city but there was too much blowing snow to see anything. Instead I photographed the birds who seamed to not care about the cold at all.
Ring Necked Doves
My route for this walk took me past Fort Logan, where the quiet old buildings fit the stillness of the cold.
Icicles on a old storage shed.
Blowing Snow
The shots of the Collared Doves, Song Sparrows, and icicles on the old shed were taken when the wind paused and the sun poked through the clouds. In general though, the weather was more of an invigorating, white-out style. Fun, but rendering everything as a blurry grey blob.
The Northern Flicker, for example, was hammering into one of the trees in this area, and though you get a flavor of the snow blowing behind him, I was close enough to get a clear shot but you can see here just how windy it was.
