Smog over Denver
I love the way that fog gives depth in a photo. We rarely get fog here, very rarely, but we get a lot of smog. I’ve taken versions of this photo every year when the combination of chemicals in the air and sunrise give a unique color the city. Sometimes more orange, sometimes more blue, sometimes a bit of purple mountains majesty.
I think the building in the foreground is pretty ugly, but here, just in silluette, it’s not as bad.
Denver smog, October 2024 with a blue green vibe.
Old photos of the same view
Here are some shots from November of 2023 when the smog was much more purple pink than blue green.
The Denver Tech Center is still back there, you just can’t see it.
The posts holding up the top golf nets give the sunrise a very Star Wars vibe.
This orange version, shot back in August of 2019 on my 5D Classic with the Tamron 150-600 looked more orange. Smog or not, the orange sunrise is the most common we get.
